To know me is to know I LOVE Asian cuisine. If we’re going out to eat, 9 times out of 10, I’m suggesting Thai, Japanese, or Vietnamese! I love it all. One of my favorite things is recreating my favorite takeout dishes right AT HOME! In fact, that’s how CookWithCi began. When the pandemic hit and restaurants closed, I noticed the longing for people to enjoy their favorite takeout flavors from the comfort of their own kitchens. Now I make it a point to share with you my favorite takeout inspired recipes.

Whether you’re looking for dinner inspiration or eager to expand your palate, here are my 10 Better Than Takeout Dinner Ideas.

1. Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice

One of my all time favorite dishes is Thai Basil Fried Rice. Comes together in 25 minutes. flavorful rice tossed with thin pieces of chicken, garlic, chili peppers and loads of Thai basil. Garlicky, spicy goodness. Comforting yet packs a punch. So so good!

2. Spicy Shrimp Roll

Perfect for when you’re craving sushi. Spicy shrimp sushi roll is the ultimate roll and perfect for when you’re craving sushi. Spicy shrimp mix, and cucumber slices rolled tight between rice and seaweed then topped with avocado slices green onions and sesame seeds.

3. 20-min Beef Udon Noodles

Quick and flavorful 20-min Beef Udon Noodles. Made with crispy beef, vibrant veggies, and chewy udon noodles perfectly coated in a mouthwatering sweet and spicy umami sauce. This dish effortlessly combines textures and flavors, creating a satisfying and delicious meal in just minutes.

Crispy, & creamy Crab Rangoon. One of my all time favorite takeout menu items. These wontons are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Filled with cream cheese, imitation crab, green onions, seasoned to perfection then deep fried until golden brown. Serve them up with a delicious sweet chili sauce. They are incredibly good. Delicious classic. Dare I say… better than takeout.
