Air Fried Hennessy Wings. Crispy, smoky, air fried wings tossed in the most delicious sweet, and spicy Hennessy BBQ sauce.
Earlier this week I shared a cocktail recipe in partnership with Hennessy, and mentioned these Air Fried Hennessy wings and the comments went crazy with requests for the recipe. So here it is!
These wings are perfect! They’re crispy, smoky, sweet and spicy. These will easily become your new favorite way to make wings! Serve them with some fries, your favorite dipping sauce and you’re in for a treat!
Inspired by one of my favorite restaurants in NYC- Dallas BBQ. They have some amazing Hennessy wings. And because I’ve been missing NYC a little more these days (summer FOMO) I had to make my own version.
How to make Air Fried Hennessy Wings
Air frying was my cooking method of choice. You can also fry them or bake them in the oven.
Honestly, what was life before the air fryer? Like I know it’s literally just a mini oven, but it really is one of the BEST kitchen appliances ever and it gets things done in half the time. I will forever STAN. I used my air fryer from Kalorik. Cooked the wings on 380 for 25-30 minutes flipping them half way through. Note- I highly recommend preheating your air fryer before cooking the wings to get them extra crispy.

What you’ll need
For the sauce
- Hennessy
- BBQ Sauce
- Honey
- Unsalted butter
- Brown Sugar
- Buffalo Sauce
- Red pepper flakes
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- Adobo seasoning
For the Wings
- Chicken Wings– I split my whole wings into drums and flats. Feel free to use whole chicken wings or even tenders.
- Baking Powder- The key to getting super crispy wings in the air fryer.
- Olive Oil- this helps the seasonings stick to the chicken.
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Tony’s Lite Seasoning
- Cayenne pepper
- Smoked paprika- gives these wings a smokey flavor.
- Adobo seasoning
- Black Pepper
How to make the wings
- Cut your whole wings into drums and flats. Clean the wings with vinegar, water and lime. Pluck any hairs. Then rinse the chicken with cold water until the water runs clear.
- Pat dry the chicken then add to a bowl. Add olive oil and season with onion powder, garlic powder, Adobo, Tony’s lite seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper and baking powder. Mix until each wing is coated. Set aside.
- Preheat air fryer for 10 minutes, before adding the wings to the air fryer trays. Air fry on 380 for 25 minutes flipping them half way through.
For the sauce
- Prepare the sauce. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add in butter, BBQ sauce, Buffalo sauce, brown sugar, Hennessy. Sir until smooth and bring to a low simmer. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, Adobo, and red pepper flakes if desired. Allow the sauce to thicken. If the sauce gets too thick or you would like a more runny consistency, add water if needed.
- Transfer wings to a bowl and pour the sauce over. Toss the wings in the sauce until fully coated.
- Serve them up with your favorite dipping sauce and fries and enjoy!

Cooking Tips
- Be sure to preheat your Air Fryer before cooking the wings. This will ensure the wings get extra crispy.
- Use baking powder! This acts as a batter without egg or buttermilk and will help the wings get crispy.
- And if you’re wondering.. no you will not get drunk eating Hennessy wings.
