Easy Loaded Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl
This Loaded Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl is hands down one of my all-time favorite breakfasts.

If you’ve been around for a while, then you know breakfast is my THING! We take breakfast/brunch very seriously in my house. So it’s no surprise that I HAD to share this bowl with you. One summer I ate this 4 days straight. It’s that good.
It features crispy fried tater tots, grilled onions, chopped turkey bacon and a crispy egg. Topped with red pepper flakes avocado and green onions. It gives you something to look forward to in the mornings. I mean, come on, who doesn’t love a good breakfast bowl?
It’s packed with so much flavor and texture. I love elevating simple dishes for breakfast. It’s truly one of my favorite things to do.
Here’s the deal, this bowl does have a couple components. It’s not your typical morning rush-to-get-out-the-door breakfast. But hey, good things take a little extra effort. amirite? and this bowl is worth it!
If you’ve got a bit of extra time in the morning, I’m telling you, this is worth it. Highly recommend giving it a shot
Ingredients for Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl
- Tater Tots: I love the ones from Ore Ida. Hashbrown patties will also work!

- Yellow onion: sliced thinly and grilled
- Eggs: fried or scrambled
- Seasonings: salt, pepper, Tony’s creole seasoning, red pepper flakes
- Avocado: sliced
- Green onions: diced, for the perfect garnish
- Pepper Jack Cheese: feel free to use your favorite cheese.

Topping Ideas
- Hot sauce
- Sausage
- jalapenos
- mushrooms
- spinach
- bell peppers
- everything but the bagel seasoning
Tips for making the best tater tots:
- When I have extra time, I love to fry my tater tots. But if you want to go the healthy route, I suggest spraying them with cooking spray before air frying them.
- Always preheat your air fryer before cooking your tots or hashbrowns.
- Sprinkle them with a little salt or seasoning salt for extra flavor.
These bowls are customizable. Feel free to use mine as a guide and add your own twist to it.

Loaded Tater Tot Bowl
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 2 eggs scrambled or fried
- frozen tater tots or hashbrowns
- 1/3 yellow onion thinly sliced
- 2-4 strips bacon diced
- 1/2 avocado thinly sliced
- pepper jack cheese
- 1 stalk of green onions diced
- 1-2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- salt + pepper
- red pepper flakes
- cooking spray optional
Instructions
- Preheat your airfryer. Add tater tots then spray with cooking oil. Cook until crispy. How long will determine your air fryer. I cook mine on 380 for 13-15 minutes.
- While the tots cook, dice the bacon then cook in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Sautè onions in the rendered bacon grease and a knob of butter, tossing them frequently. Add in a knob of butter, if desired and a sprinkle of salt. Once they are grilled to your desire remove from the pan.
- Next, add in a drizzle of oil and fry or scramble your eggs.
To assemble
- Add the tots to a bowl, then add a layer of pepper jack cheese. Nook it in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds. Add the bacon bits, onions and fried egg on top.
- Top with red pepper flakes, green onions and creamy avocado slices on the side.
- I like to eat mine with ketchup or hot sauce .
- Enjoy!
