We’re in week 3, and this week’s mocktail is definitely a winner. I had forgotten how much I love guava, and it really shines in this recipe. This guava mocktail refresher is inspired by a classic margarita but with a fun, and flavorful non-alcoholic twist.

If you’re new here, I was asked to create more mocktail recipes so I decided to create #mocktailmoments, a series of curated mocktails.

How to make a Guava Mocktail Refresher?

The recipe is really simple. Rim your glass with lime juice and tajin. Combine guava nectar, lime juice, zero proof Tequila, simple syrup and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for a few minutes. Strain the drink into a glass. Garnish with fresh lime. If you’re feeling extra fancy, top it with a little fizz and enjoy. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

It’s sweet, tangy and so so good.

What is zero proof alcohol?

Zero proof alcohol is an alcohol-free alternative to traditional alcoholic beverages. It’s often made with distilled botanicals and botanical extracts. The purpose of zero proof alcohol is to mimic the flavors and experience of drinking alcohol without the actual alcohol. These beverages are often referred to as “mocktails” or “non-alcoholic cocktails.

I am so impressed with Ritual’s zero-proof alcohol alternative and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious this drink turned out. It’s a great option for those who want to skip the booze but still enjoy a tasty drink.

Guava Mocktail Refresher Ingredients

Zero Proof Tequila- Great non-alcohol alternative.
Guava Nectar- I used guava nectar from the brand Jumex.
Orange Juice- Optional, but it pairs great with the guava juice. Traditionally margaritas are made with cointreau, so this is a non-alcoholic alternative that adds a nice orange citrus note.
Lime Juice- fresh is best.
Simple Syrup- Equal parts water and sugar.
Tajin- this adds the perfect spicy/saltiness to each sip.
Club soda- optional, but if you want to take things up a notch add some fizz.
