blood orange mocktail

It’s week 2 of my Mocktail Moments series and I’m super excited about this week’s mocktail. This blood orange refresher is a deliciously sweet, tangy, and slightly sour drink that is the perfect balance of flavors. It’s the perfect drink to sip during the summer, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you all.

I’ve been having a blast experimenting with non-alcoholic drinks, and this mocktail is one of my new favorites. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! Give it a try and let me know what you think.

What you will need

Here are the ingredients you’ll need for this Blood Orange Mocktail Refresher:

Zero Proof Tequila- optional, but I used NA Tequila from Ritual.
Blood orange juice – freshly squeezed.
Lime Juice- freshly squeezed. It adds the perfect amount of tang.
Simple Syrup- It helps to balance out the tartness of the citrus and gives a nice sweetness to the drink.
Italian Blood Orange Soda- I used the one from Trader Joes. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and sour. And levels up the drink by adding fizz.
Thyme– Used to garnish and add a nice pop of color.

How to make a Blood Orange Mocktail

I made this mocktail “mojito style”. Meaning I added everything to one glass and served it up. This method saves you from having to wash multiple dishes, making it a win-win situation. Additionally, you can prepare a large batch of the mocktail for guests. My only suggestion is to wait the day of to add the soda, to avoid it going flat.

Best alcohol for this mocktail?

If you’d like to serve this as a cocktail tequila or rum would be the best. Tequila always pairs great with fruity drinks. And rum would be just as tasty as it has a nice tropical note. especially coconut rum.
