Hot Honey Mango Mocktail! The perfect drink to celebrate the warmer days ahead. Fresh mango muddled with lime juice and hot honey, infused with subtle hints of citrus throughout. Made with a non-alcoholic Tequila base, this refreshing drink is versatile—perfect on its own or as the foundation for your favorite Tequila cocktail. It’s sweet, it’s spicy with a touch of sour that everyone will love!

This mocktail is inspired by my spicy mango margarita with a few fun changes. We’ve added hot honey for an extra kick and omitted the alcohol, so that everyone can enjoy! Yep, to my expecting mamas, and my fellow friends who don’t drink. This one’s for you.

What’s Hot Honey?

Hot honey has taken the internet by storm. It’s a blend of honey, and a kick of spice. It’s a super simple recipe that you can make at home OR Mike’s Hot Honey is a great option.

I made mine by combining honey, chili powder, hot sauce and a pinch of salt. Super easy and delicious. Plus, since all the ingredients are pantry staples, it’ll last you a good while.

What You’ll Need For This Hot Honey Mango Mocktail

  • Mango: I used both fresh mango and mango nectar.
  • N/A Tequila: I used this Tequila alternative. You can leave out or use water for mocktail. If you’re making a cocktail use your favorite Tequila.
  • Orange: fresh squeeze orange juice or use a N/A orange liqueur.
  • Lime Juice: y’all know the drill. If it’s not fresh, I don’t want it.
  • Hot Honey: Add’s the perfect amount of sweetness and kick. Make it from scratch or buy your favorite.
  • Tajìn: to rim the glass.
  • Ice: Serve chilled or on the rocks.

Tips For Making The Best Hot Honey Mango Mocktail

Here are a few tips for making this mocktail

  • Fresh is best! Use fresh citrus to bring out all the natural flavors in this mocktail.
  • Strain by pouring into a fine mesh strainer rather than strainer with a cocktail shaker.
  • Chill your glass. When using a loose syrup like agave or honey it tends to drip. By chilling your prepared glass it keeps the rim in place, and allows the drink to be colder longer.
  • Garnish your drinks. It will make the experience even better.

Tips for making Hot Honey Mango Mocktail

  • make sure both lids are on tightly.
  • chill the glass for optimal enjoyment.
  • Because mango is a fleshy fruit, try to muddle it down as much as possible. When straining, use a mesh strainer instead of a traditional cocktail shaker to avoid any struggles.

Recipe Variations:

  • use a N/A orange liqueur.
  • Add some fizz! Top it with your favorite seltzer or sprite. Ginger beer will also be super refreshing.
  • Make it a cocktail by adding your favorite Tequila and orange liqueur.

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker
  • jigger
  • mesh strainer

Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz N/A Tequila
  • 2.5 oz mango nectar
  • 1/2 orange juice or n/a orange liqueur
  • 1/4 fresh mango
  • 1.5 oz lime juice about 1 large lime
  • 1 oz Hot honey use more if desired
  • ice

To Garnish

  • 2 tbsp Tajin
  • Hot honey
  • lime wheels

Instructions
 

  • Rim glass with hot honey and Tajìn then place in the freezer or fridge until ready to serve.
  • To a cocktail shaker add fresh mango, the juice of 1/2 lime and 1 tsp of hot honey. Muddle down the fruit until smooth.
  • Next add in N/A Tequila, the remaining lime juice, orange juice, mango nectar, and hot honey. Shake with ice (make sure the top is on well iykyk)
  • Add crushed ice to the chilled glass, then strain the cocktail through a mesh strainer.
  • Garnish with lime wheels and red peppers if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to swap out the N/A tequila for tequila. 
When using fresh mango, the flesh might get stuck in a traditional cocktail shaker. I recommend straining the mixture carefully through a mesh strainer. You can totally opt out of using fresh mango and use mango juice as an alternative.
