How to make Strawberry Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is really easy to make! It’s equal parts sugar and water. And for this strawberry simple syrup, a cup of strawberries, frozen or fresh and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

To start, remove the stems and cut strawberries in fourths. Place the strawberries in a saucepan, with sugar and water and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Simmer for about 20 minutes, until the strawberries soften, and you get a syrup consistency rich red color. Stir occasionally.

Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer. Pushing down the strawberries with a spoon to get all the liquid out.

Store in a mason jar or airtight container for up to 3 weeks.

  • Use fresh lime. Listen, if it’s one thing I want you to get from my blog is USE FRESH lime juice! I promise, it makes all the difference.
  • SMACK the mint like it stole something. haha no really. Smacking the mint releases the natural oils/ flavor. Which will enhance the flavors in this mojito
  • Layer the drinks with the ingredients. Add lime wheels to the side of the glass for an extra ummph of presentation.

Make it a cocktail-

If you’re looking for something a little stronger, add your favorite rum or Tequila.
